Little Miros

Our first session EVER!

The First Graders of Curtner started off our new art program with Miro inspired drawings.
The fun part was, automatic drawing with your eyes closed.
The little guys had a blast and once they opened their eyes their imagination went wild.
Suddenly cats, flowers, fish, planets and much more appeared after adding some color to the random drawings.

We used black construction paper and chalk pastels for this project.
It was hard to keep the little hands from smearing the chalk pastels all over the page, but the masterpieces below are proof, that we do have the most amazing little super artists in town!

(titles given by the kids)

floating cat

flower

fish

the hot planet

 eagle

the princess and the planet

pink crown and alien

face

martini and disco lights

angry heart

ying-yang face

ice cream sunday

It was a grand start for all of us and left us hungry for more and more.
Our school is definitely under art attack!

  1. It's amazing how creative Curtner 1st graders are. All they needed was a medium to display their thoughts plus a great teacher (you) and art comes alive.
